Is my data uploaded to the cloud?
No. Your vault, OCR text, search index, and chat history stay on your device. Engram does not require an account and does not sync your content to our servers.

Engram runs entirely on your iPhone. Most questions are answered below. If you need more help, email us — we typically respond within 2 business days.
How do I restore Premium or Lifetime purchases?
Open Engram → Settings → Premium → tap Restore purchases. Use the same Apple ID that originally made the purchase. Subscriptions are managed in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
What’s included in Premium?
Premium unlocks unlimited vault items, on-device BGE embeddings, Phi-3 mini chat, and encrypted .engram backup export. Search, recall, and basic chat remain free.
How do I back up my vault?
Premium users can export an encrypted .engram backup from Settings. Store the file wherever you choose (Files app, iCloud Drive, etc.). We do not host backups for you.
How do I import screenshots from other apps?
Use the iOS Share sheet → Engram, or open Engram and tap the capture button to import from your photo library or camera.
I forgot my PIN. Can you reset it?
Your PIN is stored only on your device. If Face ID / Touch ID is enabled, use biometrics to unlock or reset. Without biometrics, resetting the PIN requires clearing app data, which deletes your vault. We cannot recover your PIN or vault contents remotely.
Does Engram work offline?
Yes. Core features — capture, OCR, search, and chat — work in airplane mode. Optional URL import fetches a page only when you explicitly share a link to Engram.
How do I delete all my data?
Open Engram → Settings → scroll to Reset app. You can also delete the app from your iPhone to remove all local data.
